This week brought with it our very favorite Wednesday of the summer – FVA Street Fair day! We’ve decided to take you along for a little behind-the-scenes recap! Hope you had a wonderful day, thanks for braving the heat with us this year!

Team FVA starts their day around 3:30am marking the streets for vendor booths, so by 8am we’re basically forming a line at the Cape Cod Coffee tent waiting for them to start pouring!

Each year, we set up our information booth at the corner of Peg Noonan on the Library Lane side. You’re welcome to come by to say hi, have a chat, or ask about where to find your favorite vendor!

This year, we welcomed nearly 200 vendors and were thrilled to have thousands of shoppers circulating all day!

Lots of our members get in on the fun – The Black Dog hosts an epic sidewalk sale you have to see to believe and Ghelfi’s got creative with some free fudge samples being hand-passed throughout the day!

This year, a fair-goer accidentally dropped her credit card down the sewer drain! Luckily, we’ve got Falmouth DPW on speed dial and they were on-scene within 10 minutes to successfully retrieve the card. We are so thankful for the support we receive from all of our town entities – Police Department, Fire Department, Health Department, Department of Public Works… it’s truly a group effort!

The day is fun for all ages, we have lots of vendors and members who offer fun things for kids, both furry and human!

If you haven’t been, vendors line the streets from Post Office Rd. to Shore Street Ext. and face both street side and sidewalk side. No matter what you’re looking for – you can find it at the FVA street fair. We have so many people who bring their entire holiday shopping list and check it all off in July!

The crafts are handmade, and 90% of our vendors are based in New England – many from right here on Cape Cod! Where else will you find an kitchen owl crafted using kitchen tools?!

As the sun sets and vendors pack up to head to their next destination, we’re always so happy when we hear “see you next year!” The street fair has become tradition to so many and we hope it’s part of your summer each year too!
